Motorway cops are issued with 'body cameras'
POLICE patrolling Staffordshire's motorways are to be kitted out with body cameras.
Twenty of the devices will be shared between members of the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG).
It follows pressure from union leaders for the motorway cops to be issued with the cameras.

A car fire has caused part of the A500 to be closed.
The fire occurred on the A500 Northbound at Basford Roundabout near the
A53 Etruria Road, Basford.
Police initially closed the lanes northbound but now only the inside lane remains closed along with the slip road.

A CORONER has called for warning signs to be installed on the A500 after a pedestrian was killed while crossing the busy road on a public footpath.

DRUG addict Gary Farnell allowed his home to be used as a base by major dealers from Merseyside.
The 37-year-old had regular phone contact with Class A drug suppliers from Liverpool and let them use his address in High Street, Talke, at least twice a week.
